What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into focused intervals (traditionally 25 minutes) separated by short breaks. This approach helps improve mental agility, maintain focus, and prevent burnout.

How It Works:

  • Work Session (25 min): Focus intensely on a single task with zero distractions
  • Short Break (5 min): Rest and recharge after each work session
  • Long Break (15 min): Take an extended break after 4 consecutive work sessions
  • Session Tracking: Monitor your completed sessions and productivity

Benefits of Using Pomodoro:

  • Improved focus and concentration
  • Reduced mental fatigue
  • Better time estimation skills
  • Decreased procrastination
  • Enhanced work-life balance
  • Increased productivity and output

Best Used For:

  • Study sessions and exam preparation
  • Writing and content creation
  • Programming and coding
  • Design and creative work
  • Administrative tasks
  • Any focused work requiring sustained attention
